Sharon Armour

I work with humble materials - found, reclaimed, re-purposed & recycled wood & metal, stone, paper, clay and glass. Pieces are then supplemented with precious and semi-precious metals and stones, natural fibers and materials, polymer clays, patinas, stains, and paints. I also use photography to bring images of the natural world into a variety of visual media.  These materials are worked into new expressions of art and fine craft to highlight the beauty that is all around us. My wish is to inspire all who see my artwork to look again at the old, the "worthless", the scraps of our natural and industrial world and to find nourishment, inspiration and a deeper seeing of the art that can be found in ourselves and the world around us.
